Itinerary : Your Tour Program

Day 1 ENTRY BEIJING Upon your arrival at the Beijing Capital International Airport you will be met guide and escorted to your hotel. Relax in hotel to recover from the jet lag or you can explore the city on your own.

Day 2 BEIJING This morning you travel by coach to visit the Ming Tombs where the Ming Dynasty emperors were buried and in the afternoon the world renowned Great Wall. You will ascend one or two of its majestically standing towers and enjoy a unique view of the Wall winding among the undulating mountains.

Day 3 BEIJING Today we take you for a stroll in the world largest Tiananmen Square which is bordered by the Great Hall of the People and Chinese History Museum, with Mao�s Mausoleum opposite Tiananmen, the Gate of Heavenly Peace. Then we go to the Forbidden City, a complex of imperial palaces and home to the emperors for over 500 years. Some of the grand halls have been used as museums for collections of Chinese paintings and calligraphy and other treasured articles. After a Chinese lunch we visit the Temple of Heaven, an exquisite example of Ming architecture, where the emperors performed the annual rites believed to be essential to the well-being of the nation. In the evening we are guests at a traditional Beijing Duck banquet and attend Beijing Opera performances.

Day 4 BEIJING/XI'AN Visit the Summer Palace where the emperors used to live during summer to escape the heat. Take flight to Xi'an and transfer to the hotel. Visit the Ancient City Wall.

Day 5 XI'AN Visit The Terra-Cotta Warriors museum, the Provincial History Museum and the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. The Tang Dynasty Dinner and Show is served in the evening.

Day 6 XI'AN Visit the joint mausoleum of emperor Gaozong and Wu Zetian, the most famous empress in the Chinese history, Qianling Museum, the Tomb of princess Yongtai and the Xianyang Terracotta Museum. The local speciality Dumpling Dinner is served in the evening.

Day 7 XI'AN/CHONGQING Visit the Great Mosque. Take flight to Chongqing and visit the Chongqing Museum and the Residence of General Joseph W. Stilwell. Your memorable Yangtze River tour begins as you board the deluxe East King or East Queen (5 star) cruise ships at 23:00.

Day 8 SHIBAOZHAI Sail through the mountains of Eastern Sichuan this morning. After lunch around 13:30, disembark for an excursion to Shibaozhai. Back on board at 15:30. Around 19:00 there will be Captain's Welcome Party. After the party, guests can mingle and enjoy the ball if they want.

Day 9 THREE GORGES After breakfast at 8:30, pass the Wu Gorges with its twelve lofty and misty gorges. Around 11:00, disembark at Badong for a sampan tour to Shennong Stream. Get offshore and have lunch on the cruise ship. Around 16:30, pass Xiling Gorges and the Ship Locks of the Three Gorges Dam.

Day 10 YICHANG/SHANGHAI Around 8:00 this morning, disembark for an excursion to the new and still under construction, Three Gorges Dam. The estimated arrival in Yichang is at 11:30. Take flight to Shanghai and transfer to the hotel.

Day 11 SHANGHAI Visit the Shanghai Museum, the TV Tower of Oriental Pearl, the Yu Garden and The Bund. The Portman Acrobatic Show is served in the evening.

Day 12 SHANGHAI DEPARTURE Tranfer to the airport with the tour guide.
