Itinerary : Your Tour Program

Day 1 CHIANG MAI � LISU LODGE Morning transfer on a local truck �songtaew� to the mountain temple of Wat Prathat Doi Suthep, the most famous landmark of Chiang Mai. Its exquisite golden pagoda with 6 kg of pure gold at its peak and the rest plated with gold shines high over the city. The sound of temple bells fills the air, and the view down over the city makes an irresistible photo opportunity. Afterwards drive up the mountain, passing the King�s winter palace of Phuping and turn onto a rough dirt road to the Chang Khien Coffee Research Project where you can enjoy a cup of the local �arabica� surrounded by fabulous gardens of flowers. Continue to the white Hmong village of Chang Khien where the 800 inhabitants still retain their traditional hill tribe clothes and culture that dates back 500 years. The modern city of Chiang Mai can be viewed down below 10 km away. Upon arrival enjoy a quick cup of steaming mountain tea with a village family and then back to Doi Suthep with continuing to visit an Orchid Farm. Drive to the Lisu Lodge for lunch. Enjoy a relaxing ox-cart ride through fields, orchards and teak plantations before you start on a village tour guided by Lisu people to see a bit of Lisu customs and culture. Dinner and overnight at the Lisu Lodge.

Day 2 LISU LODGE � LANNA FARM Breakfast at the lodge Start your adventure with cycling about 13 kms to the rafting point. Experience a 45-minute inflatable raft down the river and end up at Thai village. Short transfer to the Elephant Camp where Picnic lunch will be provided. Afternoon, enjoy an hour elephant riding through the beautiful mountainous jungle to end up by the river. Then transfer to Kh๛m La nna. Upon arrival, a tasty herbal tea or fruit juice welcome drink from the fruitful garden around Khum Lanna. Check-in your room. Briefing and orientation will be made for you to select your next morning activity. 16:30 Thai cooking introductions get a free recipe book and start your first lesson to prepare an authentic tasting Thai food (4 dishes). All major ingredients in Thai cooking are introduced along with the concept of balancing the 5-flavor groups. Time at leisure until dinner. Enjoy your Thai dinner that you have prepared in the afternoon.

Day 3 LANNA FARM: COOKING CLASS � CHIANG MAI 05:30 Coffee/tea will be brought to your room for your wake-up call before the Sunrise biking along the rural country road via San Kwang village to Phrao to visit an early local market where local coffee will be served . With the help of your guide you may buy local cookies and the flower garland for the temple offering on the way back. Then walk to visit the farmer tools shop and rice shop, talk with the owner and learn more about the rice legends and differences & properties of the varieties of rice. Your local escort will translate. Bike back to Khum Lanna with a stop to visit Wat Pa Gee Pay respect to the Buddha image under the sacred tree. Continue biking to Khum Lanna along the local canal with a stop to see the rice fields and get more information about the rice-growing process and the place of rice in Thai life. Refreshment or shower before breakfast served at 09:00. 10:00 Enjoy preparations for Lanna country-style BBQ lunch . Start by a garden tour around the house, collecting different seasonal herbs, vegetables, and fruits for cooking. Learning how to ride a water buffalo and do the actual riding. 11:00, the second Thai cooking class when you will learn to prepare and cook your selection from the garden or local market Share an informal Lanna country-style BBQ lunch that you have prepared with your host. Enjoy a Thai Lunch at Khum Lanna. In the afternoon, we provide you with the one hour activity of guided Biking around the Khum Lanna . 16:00 End of the Experience and transfer back to Chiang Mai.
