Itinerary : Your Tour Program
Day 1  HEHO � KALAW Meet with your travel guide on arrival of morning flight from Mandalay, Bagan, Yangon, Kyaing Tong or Tachilek at Heho airport. Upon arrival, transfer to Kalaw (32 km � 1 1/2 hour), a fresh and delightful hill station, on the rim of the Shan Plateau. On the way stop at a farming village where Pa-O and Shan people live. Nearby you will visit a small cave where Buddhist devotees set-up several Buddha statues. Ater lunch at local restaurant start with a walking tour through this peaceful place with an atmospere reminiscent of the colonial era. Nowadays the town is a market center for ethnic minorities from surrounding regions. Dinner at hotel and overnight stay at Pine Hill Resort, Hill Top Villa (**) or similar in Kalaw.

Day 2  KALAW Breakfast at hotel, a 45 minutes drive will bring you to Myegya where your trekking guide is waiting for you. After approximately 3 hours hiking through tea- and cheroot leaf plantations you will reach Taung Myint Gyi village. Have a look around the Pao village, enjoy your lunch box and visit the beautiful monastery. Continue walking for another 3 hours through beautiful landscapes and small villages to Yasakyi village, a Palaung hill tribe village. The animist Palaung Tribe was amongst the earliest inhabitants in Myanmar and has kept to their tradition living with several families in 'long-houses', cultivating cash crops and tanapet for Burmese cheroot cigars. Overnight stop at the Palaung monastery or in a local house.

Day 3  PINDAYA Myanmar style Breakfast. Those who want to do it all can start early morning with the climb to Yasakyi peak (3 hours return). Hike to another settlement and small mountain villages in the region before descending to Pindaya. You have a choice between several trails taking 4 to 8 hours trekking to reach the valley. Picnic lunch on the way. Dinner and overnight stay at Inle Inn, Conqueror (**) in Pindaya.

Day 4  PINDAYA � INLE LAKE After breakfast visit Pindaya Caves, a unique site housing thousands of Buddha images placed there by pilgrims over the centuries. Drive to Nyaung Shwe (95 km � 2 ? hours) and transfer approx. 1 hour by boat to your hotel. After lunch at a local restaurant on the lake you will start an excursion by boat on Inle Lake to see the famous leg rowers, typical floating gardens, local methods of fishing, village life and magnificent scenery. You will visits the Phaungdaw Oo Pagoda, one of the main principle shrines in Myanmar and dating back to the 18th century; the Nga Phe Kyaung Monastery, famous for its jumping cats trained by monks; the weaving village of Inpawkhon. Dinner and overnight stay at Golden Island Cottages (**, built on stilts over Inle Lake), Paradise Inle Resort or similar on Inle Lake

Day 5  INLE LAKE After breakfast and depending on the water level, an excursion by boat to the Western Shore of Inle Lake will take you to the beginning of a stair path leading to the hidden and unknown INN THEIN PAGODA complex. Visit one of the most amazing historical sights on the shore of the lake consisting of hundreds of small stupas overgrown by moss and greens. Continue on foot to a village nearby where several crops are grown in traditional ways. Walk in an easy pace along one of the many creeks passing through rice fields to the village of SAE MA. Visit the primary school of the village and possibility to meet the children and teachers to observe their way of learning and teaching. Step in a wooden canoe for an exciting ride down a narrow creek until you reach the PAUNG DAW OO PAGODA.. After lunch in simple local restaurant your journey will continue to the Eastern shore. You will hike up (about 2 hours) to the village of Tha Le Oo and take the opportunity to explore the simple life and food of the Pa O Tribe. A stop at a mountain Pagoda will offer you splendid views of the region just visited and travel back by boat to your hotel. Dinner and overnight stay at Golden Island Cottages (**, Standard room, built on stilts over Inle Lake).

Day 6  KAKKU After breakfast, meet a representative of the Pa-O people, who will be your trekking guide. Start your approx. 3? hours hike up hill to HTI NE village where picnic lunch will be served at the local monastery. Continue approx. 1?hours to NEUNG-KE, a small Pa-O village specialised in the production of traditional Shan music instruments, such as drums and gongs. From here continuation on bumpy off-roads (about 1 hour drive, depending on road and weather conditions) to KAKKU. Visit the KAKKU Pagoda complex of over 2000 stupas which has been opened for foreign visitors. Depart KAKKU for a visit to HTAN-PHA-YA village and cave. Unknown Shan Buddha images of various sizes are kept on the wall of the small & shallow HTAN-PHA-YA cave. Continue to Taunggyi. Dinner and overnight stay at Aye Thar Yar Golf Resort (***, Superior room) near Taunggyi.

Day 7  TAUNGGYI - HEHO After breakfast, you will be transferred to Heho Airport (40km � 1 hour) for your departure flight.
