Hotel Review of Baan Chaweng Beach Resort & Spa

The Baan Chaweng is a nice resort well off the loud main street but there are a few issues well outside the control of the resort that should be taken into account before booking. There are about 5 airplanes that fly overhead a day starting about 9 in the morning and running til about 10:30 at night. Also there are frequent fireworks set off at very close proximity to the resort throught the night. If you are looking to party than the noise won't be an issue but if you are looking for a early night than you might want to consider a different beach or at least a pair of ear plugs. As far as the beach goes it is incredibly crowded with far too many jetskis and touts to really make for a quiet romantic location. The resort, however, is wonderfully situated in the heart of the shoppping, eating and drinking establishments of the most popular beach on Koh Samui. You will just have to judge for yourself what you are after in a holiday and plan accordingly.
