Kunming
The Eastern Geneva is a provincial capital of Yunnan. It is a historically and culturally famous city of China and a center of politics, economy, culture, science, technology, and communications of Yunnan. Simao
A frontier town of the south Yunnan borders to Laos, Myanmar, and Vietnam. With a mild climate and plenty of rainfall, Simao is blessed with natural resources, beautiful landscapes, and forests. Forest coverage of the area is 61.2%, as a result; Simao is filled with lush forest and green hills, while historical site such as Qiannuo Buddhist Temple is built in typical Chinese architecture that well represents Theravada Buddhism. Because of its terrific location, nowadays, there are quite a number of overland trips organized from Thailand to Myanmar and end at Simao for visitors to get first hand experience on untouched nature. Xiushuangbanna
A truly enchanting city is located in the southern-most tip of Yunnan province and bordering with Myanmar and Laos. Situated in the northern edge of the tropical zone, Xishuangbanna enjoys mild and humid climate that differs from other parts of Yunnan. With its tropical forests type of climate, Xishuangbanna is abundant in natural resources of virgin forests, species of tropical trees like medicinal plants and wild animals such as peacocks and Asian elephants. Xishuangbanna is a settlement of various ethnic minorities of Dai, Hani, Lahu, Bulang, Jinuo, Yao, Yi, and some other nationalities. Among them, the Dai people are the most skillful in dance and song and are willing to cater to visitors with their mild tempers.
