illuminated with thousands of lanterns along the way to the foothill of Higashiyama Mountain. On the way you will see the charming ambience of Kyoto streets at night and the stunning scenery of swaying soft lights reflecting on Japanese style buildings, stone pavements, walls and trees. All well-known temples and shrines in Higashiyama (Shoren-in Temple, Chion-in Temple, Kodaiji Temple, Yasaka-jinja Shrine, etc.) are exquisitely illuminated and extended their opening hours during the event. Apart from that, there are a display of Ikebana (traditional Japanese flower arrangement), tradition lights exhibition, Geisha dance and Shaku-hachi flute performances at Higashiyama and Kodaiji Temple Park.
